Positive Comments - Direct Quotes
Students in all courses are required to give numerous presentations
using combinations of Power Point, video, and audio, and/or a
combination of various electronic media.
I couldn’t teach without it.
The university is ahead of the curve thanks to OIT!
The use of gradebook with my students has really saved me time.
Students are able to see their grade without talking directly to me. If
I have entered it wrong they can call my attention to it right away. It
has been a great time saver.
Technology is an important tool for my job at SFA both on the
productivity side and on the creative site to enhance learning by the
students.
All my course content comes from internet websites that have the most
current information related to the courses I teach.
Technology is an absolute necessity in educational instruction,
preparation and presentation.
Students must know how to use technology as they enter the classroom
because the classroom of today is technology driven.
Students are required to use
the chat room to discuss assignments and the discussion board to post
assignments.
I only teach two content
courses for undergraduate students seeking FCS Certification--the
majority
of my students are not seeking teaching certification. All of my
courses are
web-enhanced. Students are required to use Power Point software for any
class presentations assigned and senior students are required to
prepare
an electronic portfolio using Power Point software.
Negative Comments
These have a negative tone but still suggest a strong desire to
improve
technology integration.
TIME
and SPEED surfaced
as areas of frustration for COE faculty.
Direct Quotes
The faculty needs a high speed DSL option for home use. We need
more money for computer replacements for software for faculty.
I know I could be more time-efficient if I had better technology
skills. BUT . . time to learn/practice those skills/initial learning
with present course load, etc., is hard to find. In order to
incorporated technology in new and appropriate ways involves time to
plan as well as equipment that is
up-to-date and working. I would really appreciate a training session on
building
a website/page using Dreamweaver.
There is little use for
technology in my classroom. It is a physical activities course.
